Editing or modifying survey contents

If you want to change any part of a survey after you have created it, click "Edit Survey" in the Survey Administrator. You will go through a step-by-step process similar to that for creating a survey.

If you already have any responses to your survey, regardless of whether they are complete or in progress, you may not be able to edit your survey. This includes test responses that you might have submitted to review your survey. You may need to delete any existing response data by clicking the "clear results" button. This will allow you to edit all components of the survey.

If you want to edit demographic questions or survey items, you will have to delete all survey responses before doing so. This is necessary because if you were to change the content of the survey after some people already responded, then the data from their responses would be inaccurate.

Note that once you generate a report for any survey, you will no longer be able to delete the response data for your survey. This means you will no longer be able to edit the survey content. We assume that once you have generated a report, you must have already collected valid data from your respondents. As a safety measure, we prevent you from accidentally deleting your data at this point. If you generated a report as part of the testing and review process for your survey and you need to make additional changes to the survey, send an email to support@custominsight.com so we can reset your survey to allow you to edit it.
