If you want to perform custom statistical analyses of the survey response data or sort it in different ways, use the MS Excel report to do this. You can combine the results from reports from different subgroups to produce charts and graphs that highlight the differences in the responses between the various subgroups. This is only one example of how you can use the raw data to create your own reports. There are numerous other things that you might want to do with the data in Excel or another statistical analysis program.
